Counselling provides a safe and confidential space in which to explore your feelings. Talking to a qualified therapist in a confidential setting, with no judgement and being respectfully listened to can sometimes help us to understand what is making us feel a certain way.
These feelings can affect our relationships with others, or our personal life. Feelings such as anger, grief, anxiety, or loneliness can be distressing. Counselling can help explore and reflect upon these feelings. It can help you understand what is at the root of the concern and help you to work towards resolving them.
Counselling is not advice, it is a process where the counsellor can help you to explore and understand these thoughts and feelings, and then help to develop you to cope with them.
Each counselling session lasts approximately 50-60 minutes, the first session with the counsellor is an assessment session and allows you to discuss any issues you wish to explore, and what you hope to achieve.
